Dr Kang-Teng Lim

Dr Kang-Teng Lim is a well-known consultant cardiologist and electrophysiologist based in Tugun, a suburb of the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia. He currently works at the Gold Coast Heart Centre, a position he has held since June 2008.

Dr Lim earned his MBBS degree from Melbourne University in 1997. He then went on to complete his basic and advanced cardiology training in Melbourne. In 2004, he was admitted as a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), indicating his advanced training and expertise in the field.

Following his fellowship in cardiology, Dr Lim pursued further training in electrophysiology and pacing at the Royal Perth Hospital and completed his fellowship in 2006. To further expand his knowledge and skills, he obtained additional training in Bordeaux, France, under the guidance of Professor Michel Haissaguerre, a renowned electrophysiologist who is recognized for his groundbreaking work in catheter ablation therapy and atrial fibrillation ablation.

While in Bordeaux, Dr Lim contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications and authored several book chapters, enhancing his expertise in electrophysiology. His time there allowed him to refine his skills and stay updated with the latest advancements in the field.

Dr Lim specialises in catheter ablation therapy for cardiac arrhythmias, with a particular focus on atrial fibrillation ablation. He also has extensive experience in the implantation of cardiac implantable electronic devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, and loop recorders. Additionally, he is well-versed in general cardiology procedures, such as coronary angiography, transoesophageal echocardiograms, and other non-invasive cardiac investigations.

Dr Lim offers both inpatient and outpatient consultation services at several facilities, including Gold Coast Private Hospital in Southport, Pindara Private Hospital in Benowa, and John Flynn Private Hospital in Tugun.
