Dr. Mohammed Khateeb is a highly experienced Specialist General Physician and Specialist Geriatrician with an impressive educational background. Having completed his General Physician training across various countries including Pakistan, Kuwait, New Zealand, and Australia, Dr. Khateeb has acquired a wealth of knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of general medical conditions. Dr. Khateeb’s main clinical interest is in cognitive disorders, acute confusional states, Parkinson’s, falls, and multiple co- morbidities. He works with patients who have complex medical disorders, with his expertise being sought for testing mental capacity in legal aspects like EPOA, will-making, fitness to drive, and health and lifestyle decisions. Dr. Khateeb is also an advisor on maximising supports at home or decisions to move to residential care. Dr. Khateeb has served in the public system at Royal Brisbane Hospital, GCUH, and Robina Hospitals. He is extending his services to Gold Coast Private Hospital with a full range of outpatient and inpatient care. Dr. Khateeb remains a Visiting Specialist at Pindara Hospital and John Flynn Hospital and also visits nursing homes by arrangement. As a Clinical Lead for Aged Care and Rehab at Griffith University Medical School, Dr. Khateeb loves to teach and is an examiner for specialists in Medicine for the Royal College of Physicians, Australia. He is involved in a number of community activities and is an invited speaker for multiple community and carer groups. One of Dr. Khateeb’s emerging concerns is the burden of “polypharmacy” with its adverse outcomes in the elderly Australian population. His goal is to provide holistic care through his expertise in geriatrics and general medicine.
