Dr David Shum

Dr. Shum is a specialist in geriatric medicine and rehabilitation, with a strong emphasis on providing quality care for elderly patients. He completed his medical training at the University of Queensland and went on to receive further training at both the Princess Alexandra Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital. Today, Dr. Shum works primarily at Greenslopes Private Hospital, as well as holding visiting rights at Sunnybank Private Hospital and Belmont Private Hospital. He is also a staff specialist with Queensland Health at QEII Jubilee Hospital.

Dr. Shum has a wealth of experience in the field of geriatric medicine, with a particular interest in dementia and perioperative assessment in older patients. He is also committed to promoting healthy aging through lifestyle advice and has conducted research on managing frailty in elderly patients. One of his primary goals is to maintain and promote the dignity of all older patients under his care, which he believes is achieved through good communication with family and caregivers. Dr. Shum is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin, in addition to English.

Moving forward, Dr. Shum is looking to expand his practice to include telehealth services and domiciliary visits to both private residences and aged care facilities. He remains dedicated to delivering high-quality care to all of his patients, providing them with the best possible health outcomes during their later years.
