Dr. Ramesh Damodaran-Prabha is a highly trained general surgeon with expertise in liver, pancreas, and biliary surgery. He obtained his general surgery training in Western Australia and later pursued a regional general surgery fellowship, followed by advanced subspecialty training in Hepato Pancreatico Biliary surgery at three different hospitals across Australia. Dr. Damodaran-Prabha also received overseas training at the prestigious Royal Liverpool Hospital in the United Kingdom, where he gained in-depth knowledge of pancreatic surgery.
Dr. Damodaran-Prabha has a keen interest in minimally invasive general surgery and holds a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is accredited by Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) to perform upper and lower endoscopies. Dr. Damodaran-Prabha is also an ASSET and ATLS instructor and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with medical students and surgical trainees.
Dr. Damodaran-Prabha, along with his general practitioner wife and two daughters, has made the Gold Coast his home. He currently works as a consultant surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospital, where he remains committed to providing the best possible care to his patients. He is readily available to offer general practitioners advice and guidance on any patient concerns. Dr. Damodaran-Prabha's passion for teaching extends to empowering his medical students and surgical trainees to become future leaders in medicine.
