Dr Craig Sommerville is an experienced and highly skilled surgeon with expertise in General Surgery and HPB (Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary) Surgery. He earned his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1994 and immediately began his training in General Surgery. Over the years, he has successfully completed an internship and gained significant experience in laparoscopic and open hernia surgeries. His passion for HPB surgery and desire to advance his knowledge and experience in this field led him to pursue post-fellowship training in 2005. This eventually led him to postings in Adelaide and London where he served as a Fellow in HPB Surgery and Locum Consultant at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. His exposure to diverse surgical cases and colleagues from around the world broadened his expertise and sharpened his skills in HPB surgery. Dr Sommerville has extensive experience in both General and HPB surgery, including open and laparoscopic gallbladder, pancreatic and hepatic surgeries for primary or metastatic disease. His technical proficiency, coupled with his patient-centered approach, have enabled him to be an asset to the medical community. He is committed to providing the best possible care for his patients, earning their trust and confidence along the way.
