Prior to establishing his practice on the Gold Coast, Dr Islam served as a medical oncology staff specialist at Cairns Base Hospital and held a senior lecturer position at James Cook University. Currently, Dr Islam is not only a private practitioner at Icon Cancer Centre but also a medical oncology staff specialist at Gold Coast University Hospital. His expertise is sought after across different hospitals in the region, including John Flynn Private Hospital, Pindara Private Hospital, and Gold Coast Private Hospital. Dr Islam's clinical expertise spans various solid tumour malignancies, with a particular focus on colorectal cancer, head and neck cancer, lung cancer, and urogenital cancers. His vast experience in managing and treating these conditions has made him a trusted oncologist in the community.
