Dr Havish Srinath

Originally from Sydney, Dr Havish Srinath relocated to Queensland to pursue his medical education at the University of Queensland. It was during his junior doctor tenure at the Tweed Hospital in Northern NSW that he truly fell in love with the Gold Coast and its surrounds. Completing his general surgical training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, Dr Srinath obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2019.

Dr Srinath then undertook two further years of subspecialty training in colorectal surgery as a Fellow under the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). During these two years, he became proficient in robotic and minimally invasive surgery at the Tweed/John Flynn Hospital and at the intestinal failure and inflammatory bowel disease unit of Fiona Stanley Hospital. His main area of interest lies in both benign and malignant colorectal diseases, encompassing endoscopy, diverticular disease, colorectal cancer, pelvic floor disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease.

A member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and the CSSANZ, Dr Srinath has conducted research on diverticular disease, robotic surgery, and colorectal cancer, publishing and presenting in both local and international forums. Additionally, Dr Srinath is passionate about medical education, having been a tutor for medical students during his earlier years and subsequently joining the academic teaching faculty at UQ, Griffith, and Bond universities. He later obtained a graduate diploma in Medical Education from the University of Dundee, Scotland, to further his interests in surgical education.

Dr Srinath will be joining Coast Colorectal - Dr Isabella Mor & Dr Ross Warner in their new rooms from 7th February 2022, located at Suite 8A, Level 8 Fred McKay House, John Flynn Private Hospital. Furthermore, he will be available to see patients at The Tweed Hospital, Murwillumbah Hospital while practicing at the Tweed Day Surgery.
