Dr Mark Johnson

Dr. Mark Johnson is a distinguished Clinical Cardiologist specialising in Cardiac Imaging. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed his early medical training in Clinical Pharmacology and Physician training at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Dr. Johnson then pursued advanced training in Cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Prince Charles Hospitals.

Driven by a deep passion for his field, Dr. Johnson further honed his skills through a two-year clinical and research fellowship in Cardiac Imaging at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada. During this time, he gained extensive experience in various cardiac imaging techniques, focusing on low radiation dose CT coronary angiography, CT, and echocardiographic assessment for transcatheter valve therapies.

Dr. Johnson's dedication to advancing the field of cardiology is evidenced by his research contributions. He has conducted research primarily in the areas of low radiation dose CT coronary angiography and CT and echocardiographic assessment for transcatheter valve therapies. Additionally, he co-authored a book chapter on echocardiographic guidance of cardiac procedures.

Returning to Australia, Dr. Johnson made the decision to enhance cardiology services on the Sunshine Coast. He played a pivotal role as the inaugural Clinical Director of the Cardiac Investigation Unit at Nambour General Hospital, where he contributed to the establishment and development of the unit.

Currently, Dr. Johnson consults at the prestigious Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and Buderim Private Hospital. Through his extensive knowledge and experience, he continues to offer outstanding cardiac care to his patients. Dr. Johnson is a dedicated practitioner who strives to provide the highest standard of care, utilizing his expertise in clinical cardiology and cardiac imaging.
