Dr Stuart Collins

Dr. Collins is a highly regarded urological surgeon based in the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. He specialises in treating various urological disorders, including kidney, bladder, testicular cancer, lower urinary tract symptoms, and renal stone disease. His primary private practice is at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, and he also consults and performs operations at Noosa Hospital.

Dr. Collins completed his medical degree from the University of Queensland Medical School in 2001. He underwent essential surgical training for two years and advanced training in general surgery before pursuing urological training. In recognition of his groundbreaking research on three-dimensional visualization systems for laparoscopic surgery, he was awarded the prestigious Neville Davis Prize in Surgery from the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. He also became a finalist in the Sir Edward Hughes Memorial Clinical Research Prize in Surgery in the same year. Dr. Collins has presented his research findings and given education talks at various local, state, and national meetings.

Dr. Collins received his fellowship in Urology and went on to pursue advanced training in robotic surgery using the Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical platform. He is proficient in performing robotic assisted laparoscopic prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, and pyleoplasty at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.

Furthermore, Dr. Collins is a proud senior lecturer at the School of Medicine at the University of Queensland and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He represents Urology on the Medical Advisory Committee at Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and also convenes the "Preparation for Private Practice" course for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Together, his contributions and expertise have positively impacted the urological care provided to patients in the Sunshine Coast community.
