Dr Timothy Nathan

Dr Tim Nathan is an accomplished Urological Surgeon who has been serving the Sunshine Coast community since 2006. He gained his medical degree from the University of Edinburgh Medical School and went on to complete specialist training in all aspects of urology at several well-regarded London teaching hospitals, including St Peter’s Hospital (The Institute of Urology). Dr Nathan has been fellowship trained in Laparoscopic Urological Surgery at the Princess Alexander Hospital, Brisbane, under professor David Nicol. He also undertook fellowship training in Laparoscopic and Robotic Radical Prostatectomy with Professor Jens-Uwe Stolzenburg at University Hospital Leipzig, Germany.

Dr Nathan's clinical speciality lies in diagnosing and managing urological cancers. He has a wealth of experience in performing over 1000 procedures to remove cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidney. Dr Nathan has been offering robotic surgery to treat prostate and kidney cancers at the Wesley Hospital since 2015. He now offers this advanced surgical procedure locally, thanks to the newly available Da Vinci Xi Surgical Robot at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital.

Apart from cancer treatment, Dr Nathan also has expertise in general urology, laser surgery for benign prostatic enlargement and stone disease, vasectomy reversal, and prosthetics insertion to treat incontinence and erectile dysfunction. He has published several scientific papers on laser treatment for benign and malignant prostatic disease.

Dr Nathan's mission is to bring a combination of his extensive experience in complex urological surgery and the latest state-of-the-art minimally invasive techniques to achieve excellent clinical outcomes. He aims to offer compassionate and patient-centred care to his patients to help them achieve optimal health outcomes.
