Dr Anojan Navaratnam

Dr Navaratnam is a highly experienced urologist with a special interest in robotic, laparoscopic surgery and endourology. He has completed extensive training, including a Laparoscopic and Robotic Fellowship at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Queensland Robotic Surgery (QRS) unit at Greenslopes Private Hospital, and an Endourology/Minimally Invasive Fellowship at Mayo Clinic Arizona, United States of America. Dr Navaratnam is the only urologist in Queensland and one of few in Australia to have worked at Mayo Clinic. He is also the only urologist in Queensland with training certified by the Endourological Society, having been mentored by renowned surgeons Dr Erik Castle, Dr Mitchell Humphreys, and Dr Paul Andrews.

Dr Navaratnam is highly skilled in various robotic and laparoscopic surgeries, including robotic partial nephrectomy, radical nephrectomy, radical prostatectomy and cystectomy, and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. Additionally, he performs other procedures such as Rezum, Urolift, and Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate for enlarged prostates, percutaneous nephrolithotomy for complex kidney stones, and injection of spacing gel prior to radiation treatment for prostate cancer.

Dr Navaratnam has published numerous research papers in urologic literature, and has presented his research at various international conferences, including the American Urological Association annual meeting, World Congress of Endourology, and North American Robotic Urology Symposium. He is also a consultant urologist and robotic surgeon at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. Furthermore, Dr Navaratnam holds a senior lecturer position with the University of Queensland Faculty of Medicine, where he mentors future urologists. He is a member of various professional organisations including the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ), American Urological Association (AUA), Mayo Clinic Alumni Association, and Endourological Society. With these qualifications and expertise, Dr Navaratnam provides high-quality and comprehensive urological care to his patients.
