Dr Kate Gray is an accomplished urological surgeon with extensive experience in treating diseases and conditions affecting the urinary tract and reproductive organs. She earned her medical degree from the distinguished University of Queensland before undergoing her residency and general surgical training in hospitals across Queensland. She later completed advanced training in Urology from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Following the completion of her advanced training, Dr Gray received the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand travelling fellowship, which enabled her to gain further surgical expertise in Oxford, UK. During this time, she focused on gaining advanced skills in performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery to treat cancerous and non-cancerous ailments of the bladder, prostate, and kidney.
Dr Gray completed another surgical fellowship in Christchurch, NZ, where she expanded her knowledge of treating complex incontinence, male and female voiding difficulties, and advanced renal and ureter stone surgery. While in practice, Dr Gray became the first urologist in Australia to establish a clinic for administering bladder Botox injections under local anesthesia. She is the only doctor in Brisbane who offers this service.
Dr Gray has also undergone training in robotic surgery and has successfully performed the first robotic-assisted laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy for post-hysterectomy vaginal prolapse in Queensland. Patients can now receive flexible cystoscopy, bladder Botox injections, and urodynamic evaluation in Dr Gray’s consulting rooms without needing hospital admission.
In summary, Dr Gray is a skilled urological surgeon with vast experience and a dedication to offering innovative treatments that improve her patients’ health and quality of life.
