Dr Roger Watson

Dr Roger Watson is a renowned Urologist with over 25 years of experience in public and private practice Urology. He completed his FRACS Urology training in Australia in 1993 and further advanced his skills in the UK and USA with an exclusive focus on Urological Oncology. Dr Watson's mission is to offer professional and personalised care according to the individual's requirements. His field of expertise, Urological Oncology, requires collaborating with medical oncology, radiation oncology and palliative care specialists for comprehensive and co-ordinated multi-disciplinary care. Presently, Dr Watson works as the Director of Urology and Urogynaecology at Mater Adult Hospital. Along with this, he trains medical students, junior doctors, and advanced urological specialist trainers. In addition, he continues to participate in clinical and laboratory research at various Mater entities to further improve his knowledge and expertise. Dr Watson is also a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and has been appointed an examiner by them. Furthermore, he is a member of the American Urological Association and Australasian Medical Association. Dr Watson played a crucial role in establishing the first robotic surgical unit in Brisbane in 2008 at Greenslopes Private Hospital, which still stands as one of the country's leading robotic units, having performed over 2000 successful robotic radical prostatectomies. Dr Watson's distinctive surgical skills, whether open or robotic, contribute to his successful outcomes, recognised widely amongst peers and patients alike. Dr Watson performs complex urological surgeries and continues his practice at North West Private Hospital, Mater Public Hospital, Mater Private Hospital, and Greenslopes Private Hospital.
