Dr Robert Perel

Dr Robert Perel is an experienced Cardiologist with a specialty in Heart Rhythm Disorders. He is based in Ipswich, Queensland, Australia. Dr Perel obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degrees from the University of Queensland, and he also holds a Bachelor of Veterinary Science with Honors from the same university.

Dr Perel underwent extensive training in Queensland, primarily at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at St Michael's Hospital in Toronto, Canada, with the University of Toronto. During this fellowship, Dr Perel focused on diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders, including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, ectopic beats, and inherited arrhythmias.

As a Heart Rhythm and Cardiac Device Specialist, Dr Perel provides comprehensive assessment and management for patients experiencing symptoms of arrhythmia such as palpitations, dizziness, abnormal heart rhythms, and syncope. He is skilled in performing diagnostic electrophysiology studies, catheter ablation for various heart rhythm disorders, and implantation of cardiac electronic devices including pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillators (CRT-Ds), and implanted cardiac monitors/loop recorders. Dr Perel is also experienced in programming, follow-up, and remote monitoring of applicable cardiac devices.
