Dr Ben Panizza is a highly acclaimed professor of surgery at the University of Queensland, with extensive fellowship training in Head and Neck/Skull Base Surgery in London, followed by Otology/Skull Base Surgery in Italy. He serves as the Director of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital, as well as the Co-Director of the Queensland Skull Base Unit. Furthermore, he is the Director of the Queensland Head and Neck Cancer Centre, which is a $15M research collaborative between the UQ Diamantina Institute/TRI, QIMRBerghofer Medical Research Institute, University of Queensland, and Princess Alexandra Hospital. Dr Panizza has contributed to the field of clinical research, being the lead investigator in several clinical trials and supervising many research higher degree students through UQ. He has authored numerous papers and textbook chapters, solidifying his status as a highly respected authority in his field. Dr Panizza's esteemed reputation has resulted in his appointment as an examiner with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, where he has served in this capacity for nine years. His dedication towards patient care and his significant contributions to research have earned him high respect and esteem in his field.
