Dr Shannon Withers

Dr Shannon Withers is a highly qualified Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon with a passion for helping her patients improve their quality of life. She completed her medical degree with Honours at the University of Tasmania, and underwent rigorous surgical training in Victoria. Dr Withers went on to pursue her area of interest- Ear and Skullbase Surgery- completing further fellowship training at the Ear Science Institute Australia and Sir Charles Gardiner Hospital in Perth. Her skills in acoustic neuroma surgery and cochlear implant surgery have been honed through this experience. Dr Withers is an experienced educator, dedicating her time to train and mentor medical students, junior doctors and surgical trainees. She has been recognized for her expertise in this field by the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, where she serves as a teacher for their training courses. Her areas of clinical interest include hearing loss, cholesteatoma surgery, cochlear implant surgery, implantable hearing aids and stapedectomy among others. Her expertise are not only limited to adult patients but also children as she is skilled in general and paediatric ENT surgery. Dr Withers is married with a young family. She currently holds memberships in notable organisations such as the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, the Australasian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the Neurotology Society of Australia.
