Dr Emily Perry is a highly qualified ear, nose, and throat surgeon who specialises in a variety of areas within her field. Her interests include paediatric and general otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and the surgical management of thyroid disease. Dr Perry works with both children and adults at Brisbane Private Hospital and holds Consultant positions at the Queensland Children's Hospital and Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. Balancing her time between her professional career and being a mother of two school-aged children, Dr Perry values education and actively involves herself in teaching junior medical staff, medical students, and other health practitioners. She has also presented at local, national, and international otolaryngology meetings, as well as general practitioner conferences, sharing her knowledge of the management of head and neck malignancies, thyroid disease, and ear disease. Dr Emily Perry obtained her Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Law (Class I Honours), Bachelor of Medicine, and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of Queensland, subsequently pursuing her residency training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Her passion for surgery bloomed early in her Junior House Officer year, completing her Basic Surgical exams. She then engaged in registrar jobs in Cardiothoracic surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery before embarking on her advanced training in Otolaryngology in Queensland in 2008. In May 2011, she completed her fellowship examination in Otolaryngology with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, holds specialist registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Authority and Australian Society of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgeons, and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
