Dr Rebecca Won

Dr Rebecca Won is a highly skilled Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who specialises in Hand surgery, cosmetic breast surgery, and skin cancer surgery. Initially raised in Brisbane, Dr Won pursued her Medical Degree from the University of Newcastle, then returned to Queensland to begin her residency. Dr Won trained in general surgery before completing her plastic surgery training in hospitals across Brisbane and Melbourne. In 2013 she obtained her FRACS (Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery) qualification from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and then sub-specialized, going on to obtain the PFET (Post Fellowship Education & Training) in Hand Surgery in 2017. She was the first Queensland surgeon to achieve this qualification and is currently the only Plastic Surgeon in Queensland to hold it.

Dr Won is a Visiting Medical Officer at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospitals and regularly contributes to the hand surgery on-call rosters at both Royal Brisbane Hospital and Greenslopes Private Hospital. She is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland Medical School, and a regular teacher of Plastic Surgical Trainees at Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Moreover, Dr Won’s contributions to her field are beyond clinical practice, as she is the current Chair of the Younger Fellows Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, a member of the Therapeutic Procedure Committee for the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Orthopaedic Implementation Liaison Group for the Medicare Review Committee, and recently served as the Past Chair of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons QLD Chapter.

Dr Won’s private consulting suites are located in Spring Hill, where she consults with patients regularly, along with Ashgrove and Brookwater. Her dedication to her patients shines through her excellent communication skills, and her commitment to making sure that patients understand all available treatment options is impressive. Dr Won believes in informed medical and financial consent and welcomes phone calls from general practitioners, if required.
