David is a Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon with extensive experience in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and a member of the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. David is a visiting specialist at various leading hospitals and maintains a public commitment to plastic surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. He is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland School of Medicine. David’s academic background is impressive, as he completed a Bachelor of Psychology and Bachelor of Science followed by a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Queensland. During his tryst with medicine, he also took some time off to train as a Kung Fu disciple and played amateur rugby. David has over a decade of surgical experience with a focus on trauma, skin cancer, head, and neck reconstruction. He has also completed over 10,000 surgical procedures, and his research has been published in international Plastic Surgery Journals and presented at conferences overseas. David has special interests in reconstructive surgery, skin cancer techniques, melanoma surgery, aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, breast surgery, and microsurgery. David’s commitment to patient wellbeing is evident from his approach towards plastic and aesthetic surgery, which is both unique and progressive. He believes in celebrating individuality and readjusting beauty norms and offers ethical balance to his patients. As a father of four daughters, David understands the issues relating to women’s self-esteem and body image. He is empathetic and believes in empowering women through his work.
