Dr Vishwas Raghunath

Dr. Vishwas Raghunath is a compassionate and highly skilled Nephrologist and Obstetric Physician who provides an extensive range of evidence-based services in his field. Currently serving as a staff specialist at Ipswich Hospital, he co-runs the High Risk Pregnancy service at West Moreton health service, where he offers counseling to women with pre-existing complex medical conditions and post-delivery care. Dr. Raghunath's experience and expertise enable him to manage a range of complex medical conditions during pregnancy.

Dr. Raghunath is known for his crucial role in setting up and developing kidney healthcare in West Moreton health service. He holds an interest in various aspects of renal care, including the management of chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, kidney replacement therapies, and renal supportive care.

Dr. Raghunath obtained his basic physician training at The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane, and underwent nephrology specialist training at The Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Liverpool Hospital, St. George Hospital, and Prince of Wales Hospital in Brisbane and Sydney, Australia, before becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Additionally, he completed his obstetric medicine training at Mater Mother’s Hospital, where he works collaboratively.

A conjoint appointment with the University of Queensland proves Dr. Raghunath's commitment to balancing his career in healthcare and academics. He regularly speaks at various national and international conferences and meetings and is an active member of prominent nephrology and obstetric medicine societies like ANZSN, ISN, and SOMANZ. His contribution to promoting effective kidney-care initiatives across Queensland is noteworthy as he was a committee member of the Queensland Statewide Renal Network.
