Dr Eric Chou

Dr Eric Chou is a highly qualified consultant nephrologist who completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 2004 and MBBS in 2009 at the University of Queensland. He has extensive experience working in renal units across Queensland, including the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane and Cairns Base Hospital in Far North Queensland. Dr Chou is particularly passionate about establishing long-term therapeutic relationships with his patients and their families, providing a patient-centered approach to overall clinical management. He believes in the importance of a multi-disciplinary approach to patient care, working closely with GPs, specialists, and allied healthcare professionals.

Dr Chou is fluent in Mandarin, which allows him to provide care for Chinese-speaking individuals, and his understanding of Asian culture ensures that he can provide culturally sensitive and appropriate care to his patients. He has a strong interest in education and has been an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland, participating in the training of junior doctors and medical students.

Dr Chou is the founding executive director of Queensland Nephrology and has lived in Brisbane for over 20 years, giving him a deep appreciation of the local lifestyle and cultural aspects. He is committed to delivering the highest level of care to his patients and providing them with the support they need to manage their health in the long term.
