Dr Andrew Bofinger is a highly accomplished medical professional, renowned for his extensive experience and outstanding contributions to the field of nephrology. He graduated from the University of Queensland in 1989 with First Class Honours and a University Medal. He completed his specialist training at Princess Alexandra Hospital and the Royal Brisbane Hospital, earning his FRACP in 1997. Dr Bofinger further pursued his academic passion by embarking on a PhD journey, which he completed in 2003, studying "Fibromuscular Dysplasia of the Renal Arteries: Studies on Aetiology" at the Hypertension Unit, Greenslopes Private Hospital.
Dr Bofinger currently serves as the Chair of Nephrology and Associate Professor in Medicine at the University of Queensland, where he plays an instrumental role in imparting knowledge to medical students and trainee physicians. As an active member of the National Examining Panel of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, he is also involved in registrar training and assessment. He excels in clinical nephrology and has a keen interest in electrolyte disorders, dialysis, and secondary hypertension.
