Professor David Christie is an experienced radiation oncologist with over 25 years of practice, specialising in the treatment of various types of cancers. He is based on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, and provides his services in various medical facilities, including John Flynn Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital.
While Prof Christie has expertise in treating all cancers that require radiotherapy, his special interests lie in urological cancer and lymphoma. He has extensive experience in the use of brachytherapy for the treatment of prostate cancer. Moreover, he actively engages in clinical research, particularly in the field of urological cancer, and is involved in national and international clinical trials.
In addition to his clinical practice, Prof Christie also holds research and teaching positions at the University of New England, as well as Bond and Griffith Universities. He is actively involved in various clinical trial organizations, notably the Trans-Tasman Radiation Oncology Group (TROG). Prof Christie has contributed significantly to the field, publishing over 150 papers, which are accessible online. He served as an editor for the Journal of Medical Imaging and Radiation Oncology (JMIRO), the only Radiation Oncology medical journal based in Australia.
