Dr Stephen Godfrey

Dr Stephen Godfrey is an experienced ophthalmologist specialising in general ophthalmology, cataracts, and oculoplastic surgery. He is a founding partner of Outlook Eye Specialists, with practices located in Southport, Coolangatta, and Robina on the Gold Coast. Dr Godfrey obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Queensland Medical School and went on to work as a general practitioner and medical superintendent in the central west of Queensland for seven years.

Afterward, Dr Godfrey completed his specialist training in ophthalmology in Brisbane and gained further experience working at Taunton Hospital in Somerset, England. In 1999, he established his private practice on the Gold Coast. In his role as a Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) at the Gold Coast Hospital, Dr Godfrey has been involved in training and supervising registrars since 1999.

Passionate about improving eye health across communities, Dr Godfrey actively participates in the outreach eye surgery program with the Wuchopperen Aboriginal Eye Surgery in remote North Queensland. His involvement includes both consulting and performing surgeries for members of this community.

Dr Godfrey is highly skilled in treating a wide range of eye conditions and performs surgeries at Pacific Private Hospital in Southport, John Flynn Hospital in Tugun, and Gold Coast Hospital. With his dedication to improving eye health and his extensive experience, Dr Stephen Godfrey is a highly valuable practitioner in the field of ophthalmology.
