Dr Mohamed Khafaji

Dr Khafaji is a highly accomplished renal medicine specialist with extensive experience and expertise in managing chronic kidney disease, hypertension, and kidney bone disease, amongst other conditions. He completed his primary medical degree in Iraq before moving to New Zealand in 1996, where he undertook his internship and renal medicine training at Auckland Hospital. After more than a decade in Auckland, Dr Khafaji relocated to the Gold Coast in 2009 to broaden his professional horizons. He has visiting rights at both Pindara Private Hospital and John Flynn Private Hospital, where he provides medical and haemodialysis care to his patients.

As a fellow of the Australian Royal College of Physicians, Dr Khafaji is widely regarded as a leading authority in renal medicine. He is also a member of the UK College of Physician and the American Association of Hypertension. Dr Khafaji’s main interests besides renal medicine include managing resistant hypertension, kidney bone disease, chronic kidney disease, and home-based dialysis therapy.
