He has a deep understanding of all aspects of anaesthesia and pain management and his areas of expertise include back and neck pain, complex regional pain syndrome, and the use of spinal cord stimulators for pain treatment. Dr Espinet is currently one of the Directors and a Senior Consultant Pain Specialist and Anaesthetist at The Pain Doctors in Benowa, Queensland, Australia. He is also affiliated with the Pindara Medical Day Procedure Centre and the John Flynn Hospital in the Gold Coast. Dr Espinet received his Medical Degree (MBBS) and Postgraduate Diploma in Anaesthesia (DA) from the University of the West Indies in 1988. He then pursued extensive postgraduate training in Edinburgh, Scotland, UK, Europe, Texas, USA, and Australia before beginning his private practice in Queensland. Dr Espinet is a Diplomate (DA) and Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists in the UK (FRCA), and a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FFPMANZCA). Apart from his clinical practice, Dr Espinet is an Associate Professor at the Griffith University School of Medicine and at Bond University. He has also conducted several multicentre clinical trials and has published over 30 articles and abstracts in clinical journals. Dr Espinet is passionate about providing high-quality care to his patients and is committed to utilising the latest techniques to manage their pain.
