Dr Anthony Sayce

Dr. Sayce is a highly qualified Provisional Fellow in Pain Medicine, with a passion for trauma and emergency medicine, anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia, acute and chronic pain management. His educational background includes a Science degree from the Australian National University, a Medical degree from the University of Sydney, and a fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

Dr. Sayce’s experience as a former Military Doctor, where he worked as an emergency doctor, retrieval doctor, and primary care physician in multiple overseas deployments including Afghanistan, has given him extensive exposure to high-pressure and complex medical situations. Following his military service, he completed four years of anaesthetic training in Sydney and Port Macquarie, during which he discovered his passion for pain medicine.

Having worked as an Emergency and GP Anaesthetist in rural and remote indigenous communities across remote WA, QLD, and NSW, Dr. Sayce has gained a wealth of experience in providing care to underserved populations. In 2020, he commenced formal Specialist Pain training at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and currently works as a Provisional Pain Fellow for Gold Coast Health and John Flynn Private Hospital, as well as an Emergency Doctor at Byron Central and Murwillumbah Hospitals.

Dr. Sayce has a special interest in transitional pain and assisting those with cancer and end-of-life pain, and is a passionate advocate for those experiencing pain. Outside of work, Dr. Sayce enjoys mountain biking, being outdoors, and is heavily involved in CrossFit. With his impressive credentials and vast experience, Dr. Sayce is committed to advancing the field of pain medicine and providing excellent care to those in need.
