Dr Frank Thomas

Dr Frank Thomas is a highly skilled pain specialist who is dedicated to providing his patients with the most effective pain relief, using minimally invasive techniques. His area of expertise is in the use of neuromodulation as an alternative to traditional analgesics. He is experienced in spinal cord stimulation and dorsal root ganglion stimulation, which are particularly useful in the management of a range of conditions such as back pain, sciatica, abdominal pain, pelvic pain, painful diabetic neuropathy, and complex regional pain syndromes (CRPS).

Dr Thomas works as part of a multidisciplinary team that includes nurses, psychologists, and physiotherapists. Together they provide a comprehensive range of pain management therapies, from medication advice to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, as well as offering multidisciplinary pain management programs. Dr Thomas graduated with distinction from the University of Otago in 1992. Since then, he has held specialist positions at prestigious institutions such as Wellington Hospital and The Royal Brisbane Hospital. From 2011 to 2013, he was the Director of The Persistent Pain Service at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, where he gained valuable experience in dealing with complex cases. Dr Thomas has been in private practice since 2011, and in 2021, he moved to the Sunshine Coast where he continues to provide dedicated care to his patients.
