Dr Chris Schwindack is a highly qualified and experienced neurosurgeon with a passion for providing his patients with holistic care. He graduated from the University of FreeState, South Africa, in 1997, before moving to the United Kingdom to complete his basic surgical training in Edinburgh, Scotland. Dr Schwindack then proceeded to undertake a research year in Neuro-oncology at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, which led to the publication of his work on the imaging characteristics of brain tumors.
In 2007, he completed his specialist neurosurgical training at Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge. He also became a Fellow of the Royal College Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2008. After this, he traveled to Perth for a surgical fellowship and to complete his Australian specialist exams. Since 2012, Dr Schwindack has been a consultant neurosurgeon at Gold Coast Hospital, where he is currently establishing a neuro-oncology multi-disciplinary team meeting. Furthermore, he recently participated in the Cancer Queensland Brain Tumour study day, indicating his deep concern about the welfare and wellbeing of his patients.
Dr Schwindack is recognized for his proclivity towards implementing minimally invasive techniques in spinal surgery to ensure that his patients receive the least invasive surgery possible. Therefore, he regularly attends related courses to remain up to date in these modern surgical approaches. Dr Schwindack endeavors to provide his patients with holistic care, only resorting to surgery after alternative medical options have failed. His dedication to his profession and clients create an excellent doctor-patient relationship.
