She obtained her medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1991 and went on to receive training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at various hospitals in Queensland, including the Gold Coast, Mater Mothers', QEII, Logan, and Caboolture.

Motivated by her interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery, assisted reproductive technology, and general gynaecology, Dr Lee completed her Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at King Edward Hospital in Perth. In 2001, she became a Visiting Medical Officer at the same hospital and started her own private practice.
