Dr Donald Angstetra

Dr. Donald Angstetra is a highly skilled and experienced obstetrician and gynaecologist with a particular focus on advanced minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. He completed his general obstetrics and gynecology training through the John Hunter Hospital training network, followed by advanced gynecological endoscopic training at Sydney South West Area Health Service. Further enhancing his expertise, Dr. Angstetra trained at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney as a pelvic surgical fellow, where he honed his skills in the advanced surgical treatment of endometriosis and complex pelvic surgery.

In 2017, Dr. Angstetra commenced his private practice at the Women's Health Centre at Gold Coast Private Hospital. He currently serves as a senior consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at Gold Coast University and Robina Hospitals. Recognizing his exemplary contributions to the field, Dr. Angstetra has been appointed as an honorary Associate Professor at Bond University.

Dr. Angstetra's primary area of interest is the management of endometriosis. He firmly believes in a multidisciplinary approach to treating complex endometriosis cases, and he is an expert in the field (AGES Level 6) with extensive experience in minimally invasive pelvic surgery. Moreover, Dr. Angstetra is passionate about utilizing minimally invasive surgery techniques for all types of benign diseases.

As the training-site director of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES) and an O&G training supervisor for the RANZCOG training program, Dr. Angstetra plays a crucial role in training and mentoring new generations of obstetricians and gynaecologists. He is also fluent in Bahasa, Malay, and Hokkien, enabling him to effectively communicate with patients from different cultural backgrounds.

Dr. Angstetra has contributed to the medical literature with his published articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has also presented numerous papers at local, national, and international meetings, further showcasing his commitment to advancing knowledge and sharing his expertise within the medical community. Among his notable achievements, Dr. Angstetra has received several awards for his research, including the Ameratunga Award for exploring the impact of endometriosis on partners.
