Dr Ravinder Batra is a highly accomplished cardiologist and electrophysiologist based in Ormeau, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. He is affiliated with the Gold Coast Private Hospital and serves as the Clinical Director of the catheter laboratory at the new Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH). Dr Batra is also an Associate Professor of Cardiology with Griffith University.
After completing his medical and cardiology training at the University of Delhi, India, in 1997, Dr Batra obtained a Fellowship in Electrophysiology from Maastricht, Netherlands in 1999. He then worked as a consultant in intervention cardiology and electrophysiology for leading medical facilities in Delhi, India and Birmingham City Hospital, England before returning to India in 2003. Dr Batra served as Assistant Professor in cardiology at the esteemed GB Pant Hospital, University of Delhi, before relocating to Australia in 2006.
Since his arrival in Australia, Dr Batra has played a vital role in building the cardiology services at Gold Coast Hospital and has become a leading interventionist in the region. He has established the electrophysiology, ablation, AICD, and heart failure pacing program at GCUH, making him the only public electrophysiologist on the Gold Coast. Dr Batra has also made significant contributions to the Primary PCI program.
Dr Batra's expertise lies in performing complex stenting procedures and he is highly regarded by his peers for his astute clinical skills. He has published numerous abstracts and publications that have been presented both nationally and internationally. Dr Batra's wealth of knowledge and years of experience make him an invaluable asset to the Gold Coast Hospital and University.
