Dr Vivien Wong

Dr Vivien Wong is a highly-regarded urogynaecologist with over two decades of experience in the field. Her area of expertise is in the management of women with pelvic floor disorders like urinary incontinence, bladder pain, urinary tract infections, and maternal pelvic floor trauma. Dr Wong has a private practice in Benowa, Gold Coast, Queensland and is associated with Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital.

Dr Wong obtained her medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Auckland and completed her Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in New Zealand. She furthered her training in urogynaecology in Australia and is one of the pioneers in using pelvic floor ultrasound to assist patients with pelvic floor disorders. She has extensive experience in pelvic floor ultrasound, which aids in the assessment of women with complex post-surgical repair symptoms, pelvic mesh-related complications, bowel dysfunction, pelvic organ prolapse, and urinary incontinence.

Dr Wong's passion for urogynaecology is evident in her numerous international and national workshops on pelvic floor ultrasound and her published papers on the subject. She has also completed her PhD in prolapse management. Dr Wong is a reviewer for multiple international urogynaecology journals and actively contributes to the education of medical students. She regularly supervises O&G registrars and Urogynaecology trainees.

In addition to her private practice in Pindara Hospital, Dr Wong serves as a visiting medical officer at Robina Hospital and Varsity Lakes Day Hospital. She provides pelvic floor ultrasound assessments in her rooms at Sunnybank, Brisbane, and offers consultations in Cantonese and Mandarin.
