Dr James Anderson

Dr James Anderson is an experienced Respiratory and Sleep Medicine physician with a special interest in pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism. He completed his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 2008 and obtained admission to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2017. Dr Anderson received specialist training in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, followed by fellowships in Sleep Medicine and Advanced Lung Disease. He has developed expertise in diagnosing and treating all types of respiratory and sleep disorders, including complex bronchoscopic and pleural procedures.

Presently, Dr Anderson serves as a Staff Specialist at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Senior Lecturer at Griffith University School of Medicine. Besides, he practices privately at the Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital and Buderim Private Hospital, where he offers personalised care to his patients. Additionally, Dr Anderson works as the head of the pulmonary hypertension unit at SCUH and actively collaborates with the Pulmonary Hypertension Society of Australia and New Zealand to improve treatment and outcomes for patients with pulmonary vascular diseases.

Dr Anderson's clinical expertise and dedication to advancing medical research are demonstrated in his publications in leading international respiratory journals. He is passionate about exploring new approaches to treating pulmonary hypertension and has been instrumental in identifying strategies to improve the management of pulmonary embolism.
