Dr Evan Mitchell

Dr Evan Mitchell is a committed and compassionate paediatrician who provides quality care for children of all ages on the Gold Coast. He obtained his specialty paediatric training at esteemed hospitals across Queensland, including the Royal Brisbane and Women’s, Queensland Children’s, and Gold Coast University Hospitals. With over three years of experience in multiple paediatric emergency and intensive care units, he has developed a particular clinical focus on prevention, aiming to help his patients stay safe and manage their conditions outside of busy emergency rooms.

Dr Mitchell possesses expertise in all areas of paediatric medicine, with special interests in respiratory and cardiovascular problems, allergies, nutrition, digestive health, obesity, constipation, incontinence, seizures, sleep, and oncology follow-up. Moreover, he has gained clinical experience and a special interest in newborn medicine and developmental paediatrics, aiding children and their families in the early stages of life, including addressing feeding and growth problems, behavioural issues, and difficulties at school.

Keeping up with the latest medical advancements and practicing evidence-based medicine is essential to Dr Mitchell, who is a published researcher and recipient of the 2011 Griffith University Research Excellence Prize. Additionally, he is involved in lecturing at Griffith University, actively participating in medical student education and assessment. Dr Mitchell also assists in organizing specialty paediatric clinical examinations for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He holds up-to-date certification in Neonatal Resuscitation, Advanced Paediatric Life Support, and various paediatric critical care accreditations, demonstrating his commitment to delivering the highest level of care to his patients.

During his free time, Dr Mitchell enjoys staying active by taking his young son and dogs for walks on the beach. He also appreciates a good cup of coffee.
