MBBS, MPhil, FRACS (Urol.)
Originally from the Gold Coast, Doctor Tracey completed his medical degree in 1998 at the University of Queensland. He then went on to complete his Urological fellowship qualifications in 2009, with additional training in general surgery. His passion for urology also led him to complete a Masters of Philosophy in 2006, which focused on dendritic cell immunotherapy for prostate cancer. In 2011, he returned to the Gold Coast after completing a 20-month uro-oncology fellowship in London at Charing Cross Hospital and the University College Hospital. During this fellowship, Doctor Tracey gained extensive experience in cancer surgery, including robotic surgery. Upon returning, he performed multiple firsts in the region, including the first laparoscopic pyeloplasty and laparoscopic partial nephrectomy at Gold Coast University Hospital and the initiation of the robotic surgical program at the Gold Coast Private Hospital. Dr Tracey's expertise extends beyond just cancer surgery. He also has a keen interest in reconstructive surgery and incontinence/dysfunctional voiding. He is well-versed in complex treatments for incontinence, including intravesical Botox therapy, sacral neuromodulator insertion, and fascial slings and is the only urologist who performs urodynamics on the Gold Coast. His passion for helping those with complex pelvic organ prolapse and incontinence led him to become one of the few surgeons in Australia who performs robotic sacrocolpopexies. While he has a specific focus on these areas, he also consults in general urology, covering a range of treatments, such as stone disease, BPH, and prostate cancer management. Doctor Tracey’s vast experience and unique focus make him a highly valued member of the medical community on the Gold Coast.
