Dr Allen Lim

Dr Allen Lim is a vastly experienced Gastroenterologist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He graduated with honours from Monash University in Melbourne in 1996 and completed his Specialist Gastroenterology training in Auckland, New Zealand. During his training, he spent a year working at the NZ Liver Transplant Unit where he was involved in research relating to Hepatitis and Liver Cancer.

Dr Lim has a wealth of experience in treating various gastrointestinal and liver disorders and is certified by the Australian Conjoint Committee to perform diagnostic and interventional gastroscopy and colonoscopy. He spent six years working at Tweed Heads Hospital where he played a significant role in training medical students and junior doctors. He was awarded academic titles by Bond University and Griffith University for his contributions to medical education.

Dr Lim relocated to the Gold Coast in 2006 where he established his private practice at John Flynn Private Hospital. He has served as the Head of Department of Gastroenterology since 2007, and he retired from public service in 2012 to concentrate on his private practice. Dr Lim is passionate about providing quality healthcare to the Gold Coast community and has become one of the most respected and sought-after Gastroenterologists in the region.

In addition to English, Dr Lim is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin), which enables him to effectively communicate with a diverse range of patients. His areas of interest in Gastroenterology include Capsule Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Endoscopy, and Hepatology.
