Dr Michael Mar Fan

Dr Michael Mar Fan is a highly qualified medical professional with extensive experience in the field of general surgery. He completed his advanced training in General Surgery at the Royal Brisbane Hospital in 1996 after graduating from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1989. Dr Mar Fan then pursued further training in colon and rectal surgery, laparoscopic colon surgery and colonoscopy from 1997 to 2000 at various prestigious institutions in Singapore, London, and Scotland.

Dr Mar Fan had the opportunity to work alongside some of the leading colorectal surgeons and colonoscopy experts of his time while working as a RSO at St Mark’s Hospital in Northwick Park, London in 1999. He is an active member of numerous professional organisations, including the Gastroenterology Society of Australia, the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the European Society of Coloproctology, and the American, ANZ, European, and British hernia societies.

Dr Mar Fan is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and most recently the Harvard Medical/Business School Surgeon Leadership Program (eMBA) for 2018-2019. In his free time, Dr Mar Fan enjoys traveling with his wife to explore different parts of the world while savoring each country’s exquisite cuisine. He is also passionate about playing golf, especially on links courses. Also, he is fluent in Cantonese.
