Dr Peter Gourlas

Meet Dr Peter Gourlas, a skilled surgeon specialising in both general and colorectal surgery, as well as colonoscopy. Dr Gourlas gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2004 after completing his general surgical training, mostly at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

He furthered his expertise by traveling to Cambridge, England in 2005 where he completed a fellowship in colorectal surgery. During his time in England, Dr Gourlas attended various courses at St. Marks Hospital in London, and spent two weeks as an observer with the Colorectal Unit at The Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.

Currently, Dr Gourlas is appointed to the Colorectal Unit at Princess Alexandra Hospital, and he also provides his expertise in Greenslopes Private Hospital. His main areas of interest include laparoscopic colorectal surgery and general surgery. Dr Gourlas strives to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to improve his patient's overall quality of life.
