Dr Tamer Mettyas

Dr. Tamer Mettyas is an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb with a passion for treating shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand injuries and conditions. He received his medical degree from the prestigious School of Medicine at Cairo University in 1999, and a Master’s Degree in Orthopaedics and Trauma in 2005. Following this, he became a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2006, and began practicing in the United Kingdom in 2008.

In 2009, Dr. Mettyas relocated to Australia with his family to further develop his career. After completing his specialist Orthopaedic training in Queensland in 2021, he was awarded a fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. He has also undergone advanced training in hand, wrist, and microsurgery at Macquarie University Hospital in Sydney, as well as subspecialty upper limb fellowship training in shoulder, elbow, and hand surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.

Dr. Mettyas has gained extensive surgical experience during his career, having worked across three different countries, and he consults privately at Greenslopes Private Hospital and North West Private Hospital. He also holds public appointments at Princess Alexandra Hospital, Redland Hospital & Ipswich Hospital, enabling him to help more people who require his expertise.

Dr. Mettyas is dedicated to providing exceptional care to his patients. He places great value on their needs and works closely with them to ensure that their surgical requirements are prioritised. Throughout his professional journey, he has placed great emphasis on developing his skills and knowledge in upper limb surgery, with a focus on open and arthroscopic procedures.
