Dr Mehan Siriwardhane is a highly skilled and experienced specialist in HPB and Upper GI surgery. He pursued his passion for medicine at the University of Sydney, where he graduated with first-class honours in medical science in 2004. After completing his general surgical training at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2012, Dr Siriwardhane went on to receive two years of specialized training in HPB and Upper GI surgery at Westmead Hospital in Sydney. He was then accepted to complete a fellowship in minimally invasive HPB surgery at Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, where he finished the ANZ HPB Association fellowship training program.
As a dedicated physician, Dr Siriwardhane regularly performs robotic surgery and was publicly appointed as a specialist in 2017 at QEII Hospital. In addition to his surgical work, Dr Siriwardhane undertakes humanitarian work, educating others in HPB and general surgery through the International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association's outreach programs since 2014. This commitment has earned him an honorary fellowship from the College of Surgeons in Sri Lanka.
