Meet Dr Kat Black – a highly qualified Specialist Endocrine and General Surgeon based in Brisbane. She graduated from the esteemed University of Queensland and completed her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in General Surgery in Queensland, before undertaking a further two years of post-fellowship subspecialty training in Endocrine Surgery. Dr Black’s intensive training led her to gain extensive experience in Endocrine Surgery at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London, UK, where she spent 12 months. After returning to Brisbane, she began specialising in Breast and Endocrine Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital. Her passion for managing and performing surgery for thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal conditions is evident, and she also undertakes a range of general surgical procedures, including hernia and gallbladder surgery. As a member of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), General Surgeons Australia (GSA) and Australian and New Zealand Endocrine Surgeons (ANZES), Dr Black keeps herself well informed of the latest advancements and procedures in her field. She is also a Senior Lecturer at the esteemed University of Queensland. With her public appointment as a consultant Endocrine Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, and private practice located at Greenslopes Private Hospital, Dr Black is fully committed to offering her patients the highest quality of care and treatment.
