Dr Vasant Rajan

Dr. Vasant Rajan is a highly experienced colorectal and general surgeon practicing in Brisbane. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Mumbai in 2001 and pursued his surgical training in the United States of America after completing his United States Medical Licensure Examination. He has extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of colorectal diseases, including bowel cancer, diverticular disease, anorectal and pelvic floor disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease.

In 2007, Dr. Rajan moved to Australia for a fellowship and went on to complete his FRACS in advanced general surgical training at the Royal Prince Alfred and Concord Hospitals in Sydney in 2015. He later pursued a Masters in Surgery at the University of Sydney and underwent two years of subspecialty colorectal surgical training at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide and Liverpool Hospital in Sydney.

Dr. Rajan is accredited by the conjoint committee (GESA) for colonoscopies and is a member of the RACS and CSSANZ. He has a keen interest in research and has published and presented his work at both national and international conferences. He continues to undertake research projects in his current role.

He is proficient in laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques for managing colorectal conditions, including advanced endoscopic techniques in colonoscopies. He currently holds public appointments at Logan and Redland Hospital, where he is focused on developing and delivering excellent colorectal surgical services to his patients. With his extensive knowledge and expertise, Dr. Rajan is highly respected in his field and is widely recognized as a leading colorectal and general surgeon.
