Dr Stephen Allison

Meet Dr Stephen Allison, a highly skilled general and colorectal surgeon with a special interest in surgery for colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, and functional bowel disorders. With more than 20 years of experience, Dr Allison has performed numerous laparoscopic procedures, including bowel resections, cholecystectomy, and inguinal hernia repairs. In addition, Dr Allison runs an anorectal physiology laboratory at Greenslopes Private Hospital, which helps in the care of patients with functional bowel disorders. Dr Allison earned his FRACS in general surgery in 1997 and completed subspecialist colorectal training with fellowships in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England, and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA. Since returning to Brisbane in 2000, Dr Allison has been an active general and colorectal surgeon. He also holds the position of head of the General Surgery department at Greenslopes Private Hospital and is the head of the University of Queensland Department of Surgery for Greenslopes Private Hospital.
