Dr Charles Chan

Dr Charles Chan is a Psychiatrist based in Strathfield, Sydney, New South Wales. He graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine from the University of New South Wales in 2005. Dr Chan completed his psychiatry training at Concord Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, and achieved specialist training through the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatry (RANZCP) in 2014. He also holds a Master of Psychiatry.

With over ten years of experience in the field, Dr Chan has worked in various capacities, including as a consultant psychiatrist in the public sector, specifically as a staff specialist psychiatrist with the NSW Justice Health. He has also served as a VMO Psychiatrist at St John of God Richmond Hospital and St John of God Burwood Hospital since 2014. In addition, Dr Chan has worked as a Consultant Research Psychiatrist at the Brain and Mind Research Institute, where his focus was on mood and sleep disorders.

Dr Chan has a keen interest in several areas of psychiatry, including ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and substance addiction. He is also fluent in Chinese, being proficient in both Cantonese and Mandarin. Dr Chan is an accredited supervisor for RANZCP trainees and has been involved in teaching medical students at the University of Sydney.
