Dr Ricky Tsang

Dr Ricky Tsang is a consultant psychiatrist based in Burwood, Sydney, New South Wales. He has over a decade of clinical experience in the field of mental health. Dr Tsang holds the position of Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales.

His primary areas of expertise lie in the diagnosis and treatment of various psychiatric disorders, including addiction, ADHD, anxiety disorders, autism spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, complex trauma, depression, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, prolonged grief, psychosis, psychotherapy, schizophrenia, supportive psychotherapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

Dr Tsang provides comprehensive and evidence-based treatment to patients of all age groups, including mothers and babies, individuals between the ages of 18 and 60, and those aged 60 and above. He has extensive experience working with doctors, psychiatrists, medical students, individuals from the gay and lesbian community, as well as military personnel and veterans.

In addition to English, Dr Tsang is fluent in Chinese (Cantonese) and Chinese (Mandarin), which allows him to effectively communicate and provide care to a diverse range of patients.

Dr Tsang also offers various services, including civil medicolegal assessments, family court medicolegal assessments, insurance opinions and reports, opinion and report (MBS item 291), shared care, urgent assessments, and workcover provider services.

Dr Tsang believes that an individual's illness does not define their identity, but rather their courage and strength do. He is dedicated to working closely with the caring multidisciplinary team at St John of God Hospital to deliver the best evidence-based treatments to patients throughout their recovery journey.
