Dr Maree Chanter

Dr Chanter is an expert in various areas of psychiatry, including ADHD, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, complex trauma, depression, electroconvulsive therapy (ECT), interpersonal therapy, marital issues, motivational interviewing, prolonged grief, psychodynamic psychotherapy, psychosis, psychotherapy, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS). She is passionate about helping individuals with perinatal, mood, anxiety, and adjustment disorders, as well as grief and loss and early psychosis.

Dr Chanter is experienced in working with different age groups, including mother and baby, individuals aged 18-60 and 60+, as well as those aged 16-24. She also has experience working with doctors, psychiatrists, medical students, gender diverse individuals, gay and lesbian individuals, and families.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr Chanter offers a range of services, including bulk-billing for medical students, family court medicolegal services, insurance opinions/reports, professional supervision, and weekly psychotherapy. She is also available to provide support and treatment for healthcare workers dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dr Chanter has a special interest in providing intensive treatment to patients who wish to address longstanding issues at a deep level. She holds a Doctoral degree in Psychoanalysis from the ICP in Los Angeles. Additionally, she offers psychodynamic psychotherapy for patients who would benefit from regular treatment at weekly or fortnightly intervals.
