Dr. Bradley Augustson is a highly accomplished clinical and laboratory haematologist with a keen interest in adult malignant haematology. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic leukaemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma. Dr. Augustson is currently practicing as a Laboratory Haematologist at PathWest and Western Diagnostic Pathology, as well as a staff specialist at the Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Hollywood Private Hospital since 2005. He has been passionately educating undergraduate and postgraduate medical students for years at the state level.
Dr. Augustson has a strong clinical research background and serves as the principal or co-investigator in ongoing clinical trials in malignant haematology. Through these trials, Dr. Augustson strives to offer his patients access to medications and processes that aren't readily available. He is widely recognized for his contributions to the medical field, and he regularly speaks on behalf of The Leukaemia Foundation and is a member of the Myeloma Scientific Advisory Group.
Dr. Augustson graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1991. He completed his haematology training in 2002 and worked as a bone marrow transplant fellow at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham in 2003. His efforts in 2004 involved myeloma research, and he worked with The Binding Site on the serum-free light chain assay, establishing this assay in Perth in 2005. Dr. Augustson continues to reside in Perth, where he has dedicated his career to understanding and treating haematological conditions.
