Dr Weng Chin

With over two decades of experience in respiratory medicine, Dr. Weng Chin is an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of all respiratory problems in adults. His clinical focus is on cardio-respiratory disorders and lung transplantation, with specialist interests in pulmonary hypertension, bronchoscopy, lung cancer, and advanced lung diseases. Currently, Dr. Chin serves as Head of the Advanced Lung Diseases Service at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. In this role, he manages potential and post-lung transplant recipients, as well as complex pulmonary hypertension patients. Additionally, he played a crucial role in establishing the Western Australia Lung Transplant program and pioneering lung volume reduction surgery as an alternative to transplantation. Dr. Chin's extensive experience has also made him a central figure in medical education. He has served as the Director of Physician Training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and has been an examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians since 2000. With his vast knowledge and experience, Dr. Chin is committed to providing exceptional care to patients with respiratory illnesses while also advancing the field through medical education.
