Dr Melita Cirillo

Dr. Melita Cirillo is a distinguished haematologist who specializes in malignant haematology, particularly lymphoma, myeloma and leukaemia, as well as consultative haematology including obstetric haematology, bleeding and clotting disorders. She received her medical training from the University of Western Australia and completed her initial residency in Royal Perth Hospital and King Edward Memorial Hospital. Dr. Cirillo is a firm believer in the importance of clear communication in building strong relationships and providing the best treatment plans for her patients. She understands that blood conditions can be complex and strives to provide clarity on all therapeutic options, empowering patients to make informed choices.

Dr. Cirillo’s expertise, combined with her commitment to healthcare, has earned her the title of Junior Doctor of the Year in 2015 from the Australian Medical Association. She is also an accomplished researcher and recipient of various research grants, including the WA Cancer Oncology Group, WA Health Research Registrar Program and Medical Research Foundation at Royal Perth Hospital.

Dr. Cirillo is currently a consultant haematologist at the Royal Perth Hospital and Western Haematology and Oncology Clinics, where she leads multiple clinical trials and provides care for her patients. She is also affiliated with professional organizations such as the Australian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group, Australasian Lymphoma Alliance, and Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand. Dr. Cirillo's fellowship training with the German Hodgkin Lymphoma Study Group in Germany has only added to her wealth of experience and knowledge, making her an expert in her field.
